During your studies you will learn all about the use of existing (smart) sensors and their various applications. You will discover how to make the world better, smarter and safer with sensors. Just think of the important role they play in healthcare, high-tech systems or energy. You will develop into a well-educated, highly sought-after professional with a large amount of technical expertise and a thorough knowledge of ICT and electronics.

The chance of finding a job is very high, because the world is eager for well-trained mechatronics specialists.
Entry qualification
  • Transcript of Records – If you have not yet completed Secondary School, you must upload a transcript showing your current grades. You can find the transcript template here.
  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate – If you have already completed Secondary School, you do not need to upload a separate transcript. Simply upload your Secondary School Leaving Certificate to the application.

English language requirements

You may not need to take IELTS or TOEFL. University usually allow you to prove your English proficiency in one of the following ways:

It is the expectation of the industry that a large proportion of the graduates will be employed in areas where the emphasis is on creating new systems, and therefore will take on the role of Technical Designer. A smaller proportion of the graduates will become Technical Advisers. There will also be graduates who will fulfill the role of Project Leader or Academic Researcher. You may even use the entrepreneurial skills you have developed to set-up a new company.

A graduate in Advance Sensor Applications can:

  • Implement new sensors and develop systems.
  • Maintain and manage a large sensor network, with increasing diversity of sensors and data traffic.
  • Create a research programme, which can advise companies about sensor applications in consumer products.
  • Develop an (embedded) software product on a hardware platform, specifying the operation of sub-systems.
  • Develop a sensor platform to implement innovative sensors in a social context.
  • Use new scientific developments to create smarter sensor applications.
