Are you curious about the social, environmental and economic impacts of tourism? Just consider the thousands of tourists who climb Peru's Machu Picchu every month. They bring a lot of prosperity but also put a strain on the local environment and population.

In this academic bachelor’s programme you will combine economic, social and environmental sciences. You will study theories and concepts, will receive intensive training on research methods and will learn how to critically evaluate these. You will also get practical experience.

You will first study for two years in Breda and then one year at Wageningen University & Research. The BSc Tourism is unique as the only academic bachelor's programme in the Netherlands in the field of tourism. This programme combines economic, social and environmental sciences. You will work on research projects on sustainability, climate change, globalisation and well-being. This offers you a broad perspective and the chance to contribute to the future of tourism.

During your studies you will move towards increased (educational) independence. This means educational guidance is at its height during the first year and gradually decreases over the next two years.
