A master’s degree in International Hospitality and Service Management prepares you for a successful career in the service or hospitality industry. This ever-growing industry is expected to see a rise in jobs worldwide by as much as 30% by 2022. The hospitality industry is undergoing constant change, not least driven by shifting customer demands. These changes add to the complexity of the role of hospitality manager, and as a highly skilled graduate of this course you will be in high demand at a variety of companies all over the world.

Combining work and study

Once every two weeks on Friday, you will come to Leeuwarden for a day of lectures. Each module a professor of the University of Derby visits Leeuwarden to educate full-time students for four days. Part-time students are also able to participate in these events. The fifth day is reserved especially for part-time students. In addition to the lectures, you will study on your own accord. This takes about 15 hours each week.

 

As a hospitality and service management professional, you have an interesting job in a dynamic and exciting industry. You will be trained for a strategic management position, managing all aspects of the services provided. You will help develop the organisational structure, strategies, processes and corporate culture from the customer’s perspective.
