Finance: CFA track

Learn the concepts and principles that investment professionals around the world find important and integral to global practice. Our program is closely tied to professional practice through The Chartered Financial Analyst program partnership, and courses are an excellent preparation for the CFA exams. This is a track of MSc Finance.
Solid foundation in the principles - and practice - of finance. The curriculum of this track covers 70% of the Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) from the CFA® Program that is administered by the CFA Institute.
Program and courses
For those who want to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst program, this track provides solid preparation. Gain a strong foundation in the underlying principles and professional practice of finance. Learn the fundamentals of investment tools, valuing assets, portfolio management, and wealth planning.
- Apply the latest theoretical concepts from scientific literature to real-world cases during assignments, simulation games and group discussions in class.
- The CFA track is taught by an official program partner of the CFA Institute, the global association for investment professionals awarding the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation.
- This track covers at least 70% of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK). Additionally, you receive CFA ethics training, can participate in events with the Dutch CFA Society, and are eligible for a CFA level I exam scholarship.
- Opportunity to pursue a double degree in collaboration with one of our foreign partner universities.

You must have a solid academic basis in the following areas in order to qualify for the Master's in Finance:
Mathematics and Statistics (24 ECTS)
Economics (18 ECTS)
Management or Marketing (12 ECTS)
Accounting (12 ECTS)
Finance (12 ECTS)
Academic training (24 ECTS)
Academic training means courses / experience in research skills and an academic way of working. E.g. if you have written a thesis or have done a research project this will count as academic training.
Note that these requirements are indicative, the final assessment lies with the admissions committee.
It is compulsory for this program to submit your GMAT score.

Exemptions from the GMAT requirement
Students with a relevant degree from one of the official partner universities of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management are exempted from the GMAT requirement.
