Are you a recent Life Sciences graduate or are you working as a technician and feel you are capable of more? Do you want to increase your knowledge as well as your project skills? Would you like to work more independently on complex tasks and be more versatile in your profession? Then choose the English-taught Master of Molecular Life Sciences course.

With a Bachelors of Life Sciences you can directly enrol in the full-time course, where you will learn and work at the same time. You will spend 3 days a week working as an intern in a laboratory at either a company or institute. The other 2 days you will attend lectures and study on your own. Your tuition fees will be fully covered by the internship company. The teaching team and internship company select suitable students in advance. More information can be found in the flyer.

Become a versatile professional

This course will enrich your knowledge in diverse areas: molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, statistics, bioinformatics, immunology and the development of vaccines, medicines and diagnostic tests.

You will become increasingly competent in devising experimental and project strategies, writing scientific documents, and organising projects.

Your newly acquired competences will allow you to work more independently on complex tasks and be a more versatile professional in your field. Doors will open for you, either within your organisation or further afield.

The linking pin between theory and practice

This course and your newly gained professional experience will make you the linking pin between technicians and experienced project leaders, between different departments, and between theory and practice. You will learn to balance the interests of various experts and partners involved in your projects.

You will deepen and broaden your knowledge, understanding and skills in the fields of scientific research and project management. Your knowledge of quality control, guidelines and regulations, patents, bioinformatics, statistics, finance and business development will help you communicate with experts in these areas.

Your practical experience and scientific knowledge will help you effectively contribute to the efficient implementation of projects in your professional practice.

The biotech industry, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and research institutions are constantly in need of competent, goal-oriented, interdisciplinary professionals. With a Masters degree, you will be qualified for challenging positions with great potential for growth.

Scientific and project management skills

After graduating, you will be able to plan and carry out a project in applied research and product development in different biotechnology fields. You will have a profound knowledge of the molecular and cell biology of prokaryotic and several eukaryotic organisms, and will be qualified to complete projects in different areas of biotechnology.

In addition to your scientific knowledge and skills, you will have the project management skills to oversee the organisational and interpersonal aspects of your project. You will be able to independently plan and execute short to medium-length projects.
