Master Data-driven Design

The Master's programme Data-driven Design (MDDD) is for those who want to harness the power of data, machine learning, and AI to augment the design process. To use these technologies to create value for users and create innovative concepts for a continuously changing society. This one-year programme is an intersection of (UX) design research, human-AI interaction, media studies, psychology, and data science. It will prepare you for a fast-paced professional environment and how to shape the future–translating society's needs into concepts of tomorrow.
The programme is divided into four ten-week blocks, during which you will follow workshops and lectures from each of our five learning tracks:
- Human AI Interaction
- Ethical Design
- Data Science
- Applied Research
- Critical Thinking and Data Studies
During these four blocks, you will work on an individual project to test all your competencies acquired in these five learning tracks. Supportive to the individual project, you will work as part of a learning team to advance your development as a data-driven designer in a collaborative environment.
You can confirm your English language skills in one of the following ways:
- IELTS – Overall: 6.5, no sub-score under 6.0
- TOEFL IBt – Overall: 90, no sub-score under 20
The programme was designed for ambitious bachelor graduates of
- Communication and Media Design (CMD),
- Creative Business,
- Journalism and, ICT.
Graduates of these or similar programmes are eligible to start the Master if they follow the steps of the admission procedure.

Completion of the programme is rewarded with the title Master of Arts in Data-driven Design. This degree opens the door to an exciting international career.

After completing the programme, you will be a “digital creative” in the true sense of the word – you will have acquired the skills you need in order to become a professional pioneer in the digital transformation process.
As a result of your extensive conceptual knowledge of data science in relation to media and design, you can play a leading role in the turn towards data-driven design in any organisation. The skills and knowledge acquired during the programme are a great boost to your career potential. To a large extent, the job titles that adequately describe the roles you may full fill in an organisation, still need to be invented.
