This idea has accompanied the University since it was founded, i.e. since 1924. Surrounding and protecting oceans is not only a beautiful combination of words, but also a coherent line of action based on the scientific research o highest quality.

You will be responsible for the law, economy and business

The Ocean University of China is well-known for its outstanding teaching disciplines - Oceanography and Fisheries. Among other things, students are given access to other fields of study, such as Law, Economics or Business. It's nice that there are people who want to make the world better, but the ideas are not enough. The University prepares specialists in Business, Economics and Law. Maybe you will be an environmental and natural resource lawyer? Or, maybe you will develop eco-business business ideas?

Life Nowadays

The 21st century is an ocean-focused century and university has a goal to develop a high-level international visibility which will lay the foundations for becoming a research-oriented university as we approach our 100th anniversary. By 2025, OUC will be further developed into a top-level comprehensive research university with a strong emphasis on marine sciences.

Building on this, OUC will press ahead with reform and innovation to become a world-class university with distinct characteristics by the middle of this century. Bachelor

Entry qualification

  • Maturity Certificate – if you did not graduate high school yet, you can submit a document from the high school that claims that you are a student of the last year.
  • Transcript of Records – if you did not graduate high school yet, you must add a transcript of records.

 

For applicants who haven’t graduated, pending graduation certificate and transcripts available till the application date are also acceptable. Official graduation certificate should be translated in Chinese and shall be submitted timely after being received.

 

English language requirements

You can confirm your English language skills by one of these:

  • IELTS – 6.0
  • TOEFL - 80

Exceptions are for the native speakers of English and for the ones whose previous degree is fully taught in English.

 

In Addition:
  • CV (in both native and Chinese language)
  • Foreigner Physical Examination form

 

IMPORTANT!

Application fee – universities in China have an application fee which you have to pay applying to university. With one application fee which is 90€ for this university, you can apply for three study programs.

Master

Entry qualification

  • Bachelor diploma – if you did not graduate Bachelor studies yet and do not have a diploma, you must get a document from your education institution that confirms your student status and expected date of graduation.
  • ECTS Transcript of Records – if you did not graduate yet, you must add the transcript of ECTS credits with the list of subjects you learnt and how many credits you got for each.

For applicants who haven’t graduated, pending graduation certificate and transcripts available till the application date are also acceptable. Official graduation certificate should be translated in Chinese and shall be submitted timely after being received.

 

English language requirements

You can confirm your English language skills by one of these:

  • TOEFL - 90

In Addition:
  • Two Letters of Recommendation– you must submit two letters of recommendation from your university professors (professors or associate professors). Letters must be in English. The referee’s signature and contact information are necessary.
  • Study Plan or Research Proposal in Chinayou have to prepare a text in English of more than 800 words, including research achievements so far (e.g. title and abstracts of graduation thesis or published paper), reasons of choosing university and study program, a plan of studies and research, future career plan, etc.
  • Foreigner Physical Examination form
  • CV (in both native and Chinese language)

Application fee – universities in China have an application fee which you have to pay applying to university. With one application fee which is 90€ for this university, you can apply for three study programs.

International students can stay at university student dormitories.

Rate for long term course students (3 months or above):

  • Single room – 5.6 – 7.2 €/day
  • Double room – 8.2 - 10 €/day

Rate for short term course students (1 - 3 months):

  • Single room– 10.5 €/day
  • Double room – 12.5 €/day
Laoshan Campus

Rate for long term course students (3 months or above):

  • Double room – 9 – 10 €/day

Rate for short term course students (1 - 3 months):

  • Double room – 13 - 15 €/day

International students can choose different types of campus accommodation, a single room or double-bed room at different price levels. Usually it will have all the facilities that you may need.
