International Communication Management

A typical student at our full-time programme is a world citizen. You are committed into moving to the Netherlands for one year and leave your job (temporarily), or perhaps you have just completed your bachelor’s in the Netherlands in International Business or Communication. You have been working at an international company or in a global industry, or perhaps you already call yourself a communication specialist. Your professional language is English. Your minimum level of education is at bachelor’s. You have at least two years of working experience, preferably in marketing & communications, as a press officer, editor or in a managerial role, and you are interested in the topics presented throughout this course such as Crisis Communication or Intercultural Communication. You are ready to develop your professional competencies to a more senior level. You want to get more out of yourself, your job and your organization. This master with an international business perspective will give you all the tools you need in order to succeed.

Note: Your Bachelor’s degree must be in the same or a related field as the Master’s programme you are applying for. The university will check whether you have completed enough relevant subjects and ECTS credits.

Applicants have to prove their English language skills either by an internationally recognized language test or upon previous studies. Usually English language skills can be proved by the following documents:
- TOEFL iBT*
- IELTS Academic
- A Cambridge English qualification
- Higher education degree completed in English
- Secondary education completed in English in a country or school qualification accepted by the university
- An English subject and grade on your secondary school leaving certificate that meet the university’s requirements

After graduating from the MICM programme you will receive a Master of Arts degree (MA).
Since it started, in 2003, the MICM has been accredited by the NVAO (accreditation organisation for higher education in the Netherlands and Belgium) three times: in 2004, and two renewals in 2010 and 2016.
