International Human Resource Management
The International Human Resource Management degree helps you develop your interpersonal skills and encourages your creative skills and open mindset so as to be able to place employees as a key factor for business success and sustainable change.

We think it’s important that what we teach is in line with what happens in the field and so we collaborate closely with businesses. You’ll work with fellow students in small groups on assignments from companies. The focus is on your learning objectives and our lecturers guide you through the process so that you really develop the skills and knowledge you need to be able to later make a difference as a professional.
Human resources is a dynamic and rapidly changing field. Today’s international human resource management professionals need to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of both business concepts and human behaviour. The International Human Resource Management bachelor’s programme at NHL Stenden helps form professionals that understand psychology and can combine human interests with the economic and moral interests of the organisation.
Specialisations
You can take these minors on the Leeuwarden campus or at one of the NHL Stenden Grand Tour locations in South Africa, Bali or Thailand. You can also choose from minors offered by other courses and universities of applied sciences – this is all part of broadening your academic skills.
- Mindful Leadership(Bali or Thailand). Develop your emotional intelligence with this minor focusing on stress management, mindfulness, communication, resilience and empathy. You’ll develop the skills to become a better leader.
- The Art of Ethical Leadership (Leeuwarden or South Africa). Learn how to apply key concepts of ethical and critical thinking and why tomorrow’s leaders cannot do without a developed moral compass. Develop your soft power, your ability to attract and cooperate rather than to coerce.
- The Inspirational Coach and Leader(Bali). Make a difference in your personal and professional life as a socially competent employee and inspirational leader with this minor. You’ll learn how coaching can be improved and experience the methodology yourself.
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Work and You(Leeuwarden, the Netherlands). In this minor you explore societal challenges such as labour market issues and how diversity, equity and inclusion contribute to the performance of organisations, teams and individuals. You’ll explore behaviour and tools for understanding it.

- The students have an office in the university and they work at other institutions as well during their studies. They are able to have a lot of practice in the real industry and help the university and other institutions with human resources.
- Transcript of Records – If you have not yet completed Secondary School, you must upload a transcript showing your current grades. You can find the transcript template here.
- Secondary School Leaving Certificate – If you have already completed Secondary School, you do not need to upload a separate transcript. Simply upload your Secondary School Leaving Certificate to the application.
