Hotel Management

If so, the Hotel Management bachelor’s programme is the perfect course of study for you. We prioritise your personal development and ensure that you will not only learn the theory, but also how things work in practice.
While studying at our Hotel Management School, you will learn all about the vibrant hospitality industry. You will learn to tackle hotel industry challenges from different perspectives, such as sustainable solutions and ongoing digitalisation. You will work on projects for hotel chains and have plenty of opportunities to gain experience abroad. After graduating from this English-taught programme, you will be ready for an international career in hospitality.
In four years, you will learn how to develop to an all-round Hotel Manager. Where will you find your dream job? Think big, think anywhere, because our students work all over the world. But first things first. You do need to develop, in order to get there. We will help you learn the things you need to know, improve your skills and offer you training on-the-job. With our programme, we will provide you with all you need to get your future job!
Three Year Track
You will benefit from the intensive 3-year programme in two respects: you gain one year in time, and save one year of tuition fees.
after vwo (pre-university) or after another propaedeutic year (economic programme): You will start in year 2 and also receive basic knowledge and skills from the propaedeutic phase.
taylor-made track for 'havo' graduates: You will start your course of study at De Rooi Pannen (mbo level) and you will proceed at Breda University of Applied Sciences in year 2 of the regular 4-year programme.
- Transcript of Records – If you have not yet completed Secondary School, you must upload a transcript showing your current grades. You can find the transcript template here.
- Secondary School Leaving Certificate – If you have already completed Secondary School, you do not need to upload a separate transcript. Simply upload your Secondary School Leaving Certificate to the application.
Depending on the programme, the following may be required as part of the application process:
- CV/Resume in English
- Motivation Letter in English
- Online Intake Assignment – a recruitment task to be completed after submitting your application
- Online Interview – an interview with a university representative to discuss your motivation and suitability for the programme (after submitting your application)

You may not need to take IELTS or TOEFL. University usually allow you to prove your English proficiency in one of the following ways:
- TOEFL iBT*
- IELTS Academic
- A Cambridge English qualification
- A national English examination listed on your secondary school leaving certificate
- An English subject and grade on your secondary school leaving certificate that meet the university’s requirements
- Secondary education completed in English in a country or school qualification accepted by the university
- An International Baccalaureate (IB) or European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma
- Other

Get a job
After completing your graduation assignment, you will be equipped to enter a variety of hospitality-related careers, at home or abroad. Alternatively, you might take up positions at other types of business; conference venues, holiday resorts, wholesalers to the hotel and catering trade, or consultancy agencies.
Career examples
As a manager in hospitality, you oversee the operations of an organisation that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. Our graduates work across the entire spectrum of the hospitality industry, on positions as Banqueting Manager at a conference centre and Sales and Marketing Manager at the head office of an (international) hotel chain.
After graduating you often start your career in an assistant position and over time, you work your way up to (senior) management positions in the hospitality branch.

To broaden your horizon and get to know more about possibilities and crossovers you can make with Hotel Management, you can choose a one-year master’s programme at Breda University of Applied Sciences after your bachelor’s programme in Hotel Management:
