After completing my Bachelor’s degree in my home country, I wanted to discover more of the world while continuing to develop professionally. Sweden felt like the perfect choice: close enough to feel accessible, but different enough to offer a completely new experience.
My first days abroad were easier than I expected. I already knew how to live independently, but the welcoming atmosphere at the university also helped me feel comfortable very quickly.
One of the most important moments was the Kick-off Week. It gave new students the opportunity to meet their future classmates, discover the university, and become part of student life from the very beginning. Those first activities made it much easier to build friendships and feel that I belonged there.
Studying in Sweden was both interesting and valuable. The lectures were interactive, engaging, and designed to make students participate rather than simply listen. There was no time to sit quietly at the back of the room because students were expected to discuss, ask questions, and contribute their own ideas.
I was also impressed by how seriously the university took both the quality of education and students’ wellbeing. The university wanted us not only to achieve good academic results, but also to feel supported throughout our studies.
Finding a job in Sweden without speaking Swedish can be challenging, although it is certainly not impossible. Since my programme lasted only one year, I decided to focus mainly on my studies and make the most of every opportunity the university offered.
Looking back, I never had a moment when I regretted choosing to study abroad. That year gave me new knowledge, greater confidence, international friendships, and a much broader view of the world.
Studying abroad is not only about receiving another qualification. It is an opportunity to enter a new environment, meet people who see the world differently, and discover how much you are capable of when you step beyond what is familiar.
For me, it was an invaluable experience and one of the best ways to invest in both my professional and personal future.
