I had wanted to study abroad since the eighth year of Secondary School, although choosing the right programme was not easy.
Eventually, I discovered a programme in the Netherlands that genuinely interested me. I already had friends living there, and the tuition fees were also more affordable than in several other countries I had considered.
The admission process was surprisingly simple. Kastu helped me explore the available programmes, so instead of searching through countless university websites alone, I could compare my options and choose what suited me best.
They also made completing and submitting the application much easier.
What had once seemed like a complicated international admission process became a series of clear and manageable steps.
I have only been studying in the Netherlands for one month, but everything has been going very well so far.
The students are friendly, people are willing to help each other, and I am enjoying the programme. The atmosphere between students, lecturers, and the wider university community feels open and welcoming.
What I enjoy most is meeting people from all over the world.
Every new friendship introduces me to another culture, perspective, and way of life. Even after such a short time, the international environment has already made my experience much more exciting than I expected.
You do not only begin a new degree. You suddenly become part of a community that connects people from many different countries.
Of course, not everything is perfect. I still miss the food from home, although perhaps the real problem is that I have not yet learned how to cook properly!
But even these small everyday challenges are part of becoming more independent and learning how to take care of yourself.
My advice to students considering studies abroad is to at least submit applications to several universities.
Applying does not force you to leave. It simply gives you more choices and allows you to see what opportunities are actually available.
I have been here for only a month, but this journey has already changed me. I feel more open, independent, and willing to try unfamiliar things.
Do not let fear close the door before you have even looked through it. Step outside your comfort zone, apply, and give yourself the chance to experience something new.
