I decided that I wanted to study Chemistry abroad while I was still in high school. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by nature, scientific discoveries, and understanding how different substances work. During my school years, I became especially interested in chemistry, biology, geography, and physics, and I realised that my future was connected with natural sciences.
When choosing where to continue my education, I looked for a place that could offer strong academic opportunities and good career prospects. That is why I decided to study in the Netherlands.
I have always been interested in the Netherlands because of its unique culture, traditions, and impressive development. It is a relatively small country, but it has a strong economy, advanced technologies, and a well-developed scientific and industrial sector.
I discovered HZ University of Applied Sciences through Kastu. Later, I had the opportunity to meet university representatives and students during an education exhibition in Lithuania. After learning more about the university, I realised that this was the place where I wanted to study, live, and build my future.
What I appreciate most about HZ is the personal approach to students. The classes are smaller, lecturers are always available to help, and students receive individual attention when needed. The teaching style is clear and practical, making it easier to understand complex topics.
My Chemistry programme combines both theory and practical experience. We spend a lot of time working in laboratories and applying our knowledge in practice. For me, the most challenging part is usually preparing laboratory reports, but this also helps me develop important professional skills.
Another great part of studying here is the international environment. I have met students from many different countries, and every day gives me a chance to learn about new cultures, traditions, and ways of thinking. It is amazing to realise how many interesting people there are around the world.
Life outside the university is also enjoyable. The city is not very large, which makes it comfortable for students, and it is located near the sea. When the weather is nice, many students spend time at the beach, play sports, and enjoy their free time together.
Looking back, I am very happy with my decision to study abroad. HZ University has given me not only knowledge in my field but also personal experiences, friendships, and confidence about my future.
