From an athlete with a knee injury to an office worker with back problems. From a toddler with developmental disabilities to a gentleman with Parkinson's disease. Do you want to get people moving healthily again? Then the International Physiotherapy Programme (IPP) might be right up your street.
If you choose Physiotherapy, you will learn all about how people move and how to help people of all ages and backgrounds with different mobility problems. You will ensure that your knowledge, treatment skills and attention will help people regain healthy movement so they can live healthily and actively. Whether you teach nurses how to cope better with heavy physical labour or you are treating an elderly man with a painful knee, as a physiotherapist you work with different target groups and different methodologies to get people moving healthily again.
During this programme you will be trained to become a confident and committed physiotherapist who is able to make informed choices about the care of patients. You enjoy the challenge of helping people with very different mobility problems. Think of a construction worker with back pain, a basketball player undergoing rehabilitation or a patient who has had a stroke and is learning to grab something again. After your studies, you can specialise further, for example in paediatric physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy or manual therapy.
The study programme offers a broad mix of medical-biological knowledge, physiotherapy treatment methods, behavioural psychology and communication and entrepreneurship, among other things. You will learn all the ins and outs of the human body, learn how to communicate well with your patients and investigate the connection between behaviour, environment, disease and health. You will learn which treatment plans and coaching you can utilise to make an immediate difference in people's active lifestyle. Would you like to get and keep people moving healthily again? You may not need to take IELTS or TOEFL. University usually allow you to prove your English proficiency in one of the following ways:
- TOEFL iBT*
- IELTS Academic
- A Cambridge English qualification
- A national English examination listed on your secondary school leaving certificate
- An English subject and grade on your secondary school leaving certificate that meet the university’s requirements
- Secondary education completed in English in a country or school qualification accepted by the university
- An International Baccalaureate (IB) or European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma
- Other

In a selection process the programme itself selects students based on criteria established by the programme. The advantage of decentralised selection is that you get a chance to show how motivated you are to follow these studies. In other words, we not only look at what you are capable of doing, but also at your motivation.
- By 22 January 2024 at the latest, you will receive a link to a digital registration form, a link to a digital Motivation and Learning Styles test and information about the study material and lecture. The registration form must be completed online no later than 5th of February 2024. This form includes your CV, a competency questionnaire and a knowledge test relating to the Physiotherapy programme. The digital Motivation and Learning Styles test must also be completed online no later than 5th of February 2024.
- The online selection day will take place on Saturday 10th of February 2024 and consists of a knowledge test containing questions about the lecture and study material provided beforehand.
