Sustainable development aims to achieve social and societal well-being and economic development, while maintaining a balance with the Earth's ecological system. This complex task requires knowledge of facts, perspectives, and norms, as well as methods that can be used to drive and practice sustainable development on local and global levels and prolonged over time. In the master’s program, Work Integrated Sustainable Development, students learn to systematically reflect on the relationship between facts and norms, practical and theoretical knowledge, and how organizations can work actively and strategically to achieve sustainable development.

International internship or study abroad

Choose an internship or study abroad in the third semester of your programme. Specialised and personal, University West offers an intimate campus environment without the usual barriers between academic staff and students. Entry qualification
  • ECTS transcript – If you are still completing your Bachelor’s degree, upload an ECTS transcript showing the subjects you have studied, your grades, and the number of credits awarded. Your Bachelor’s diploma must be uploaded later, as soon as you receive it.
  • Bachelor’s diploma – If you have already graduated, upload your Bachelor’s diploma. A separate ECTS transcript is not required.

Note: Your Bachelor’s degree must be in the same or a related field as the Master’s programme you are applying for. The university will check whether you have completed enough relevant subjects and ECTS credits.

  • Motivation Letter – A motivation letter is a recommended document when applying to the programmes at this university. The letter must be no longer than 1,000 words.
English language requirements

Applicants have to prove their English language skills either by an internationally recognized language test or upon previous studies. Usually English language skills can be proved by the following documents:

  • IELTS Academic
  • A Cambridge English qualification
  • Higher education degree completed in English
  • Secondary education completed in English in a country or school qualification accepted by the university

Important requirements

Previous education: Bachelor Degree 180 credits in any field or equivalent.

Upon graduation, students will have the skills and knowledge to be competitive in pursuing various job opportunities withing education, training and development, human resources, and organizational development. Some potential job titles for graduates of this program include Learning and Development Manager, Organizational Development Specialist, Talent Development Manager, and Corporate Trainer.
