What can you study in English?
University West offers English-taught Bachelor's programs such as International Affairs, AI Management and International Mechanical Engineering (all 3 years, 180 credits), plus a wide range of Master's programs in fields like AI and automation, robotics, cybersecurity and leadership. The university is especially strong in technology – its production technology research is done together with the manufacturing and aerospace industry.
Trollhättan – small city, big opportunities
Trollhättan is a compact, friendly city in western Sweden, about 45 minutes from Gothenburg by train. It is famous for its spectacular waterfalls, its film industry and its engineering heritage. For students it means low living costs, short distances (you can bike everywhere) and an easy escape to Sweden's second-biggest city whenever you want.

Bachelor
Entry qualification
- Transcript of Records – If you have not yet completed Secondary School, you must upload a transcript showing your current grades. You can find the transcript template here.
- Secondary School Leaving Certificate – If you have already completed Secondary School, you do not need to upload a separate transcript. Simply upload your Secondary School Leaving Certificate to the application.

English language requirements
You may not need to take IELTS or TOEFL. University usually allow you to prove your English proficiency in one of the following ways:
- TOEFL iBT*
- IELTS Academic
- A Cambridge English qualification
- A national English examination listed on your secondary school leaving certificate
- An English subject and grade on your secondary school leaving certificate that meet the university’s requirements
- Secondary education completed in English in a country or school qualification accepted by the university
- An International Baccalaureate (IB) or European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma

Master
Entry qualification
- ECTS transcript – If you are still completing your Bachelor’s degree, upload an ECTS transcript showing the subjects you have studied, your grades, and the number of credits awarded. Your Bachelor’s diploma must be uploaded later, as soon as you receive it.
- Bachelor’s diploma – If you have already graduated, upload your Bachelor’s diploma. A separate ECTS transcript is not required.
Note: Your Bachelor’s degree must be in the same or a related field as the Master’s programme you are applying for. The university will check whether you have completed enough relevant subjects and ECTS credits.

The university helps you find a home
At University West you don't have to hunt for housing alone. International students are offered accommodation arranged in cooperation with the university by the municipal housing company Eidar and the private landlord Steiner Fastigheter. The International Office guides you through the whole process step by step, so your move to Sweden goes smoothly.
One thing to know: the number of student rooms is limited, so apply for housing as soon as you can after admission – early birds get the best rooms.
Where will you live?
- On Campus Housing – newly renovated dormitory-style apartments right on campus, next to the city centre. Wake up 5 minutes before the lecture? No problem.
- Skördetröskan – 40 modern studio apartments (built 2017), an easy bus or bike ride (2 km) from the university.
- Lantmannavägen 38 – 15 private studio apartments for international students.
- Blåvingen – 19 student apartments close to shops, green areas and good bus connections.
