Find and use your personal strengths as a future IT-engineer

Degree Programme in Information Technology (IT) is built around three key themes: networking, data centers and IoT (Internet of Things), competence in which is further strengthened by studying other topics such as information security, programming and project studies.  

The IT programme gives you a solid foundation on IT and allows you to specialize in the field of your own interest with a flexible study plan. This way, you can find and use your personal strengths as a future IT engineer.

The IT programme focuses on computer networking and the implementation of services in modern data center environments. You learn to build secure Internet-connected, wired or wireless local area networks. You can manage and run server environments and understand how modern data centers and cloud environments operate. Information and network security also play an important role in the studies. You also learn programming, which allows you to develop and customize services for your needs.
 

Implementation of studies

Xamk’s Cisco networking lab allows building versatile networking scenarios and getting hands-on experience in working with real devices. They also utilize virtual environments to enable running larger and more complex environments. Learning environment includes a modern data center environment where students get to practice data center configuration and management tasks.  

They organize a large part of the studies through Microsoft, Cisco and Amazon AWS academies, which allows the students to gain expertise for many Microsoft, Cisco and AWS certifications. This is a valuable advantage when searching for a job in the IT market.   

Entry qualification
  • Transcript of Records – If you have not yet completed Secondary School, you must upload a transcript showing your current grades. You can find the transcript template here.
  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate – If you have already completed Secondary School, you do not need to upload a separate transcript. Simply upload your Secondary School Leaving Certificate to the application.

English language requirements
