Create 3D virtual creatures

3D Animation is a major within the Bachelor of Digital Arts and Entertainment.

Are you fascinated by the magic of animation? Then this is the choice for you! We will guide you through the entire production process of a 3D animated film.

We start with visual storytelling on a storyboard, evolving from a 2D animatic to a 3D block-out to the final scene. In this pipeline, you are the puppet master. You make virtual creatures jump, run, fly, talk, shout, fight, and even fall in love.

You learn to analyse reference material frame by frame. Whether the character is an animal, a human, an object, or an alien, the silhouette, emotion, and key-pose you convey must be universal and credible. But this is not the end. You will also explore techniques such as 3D modelling and sculpting, texturing, rigging, shading...
