Career opportunities

Interested in robotics, automation, programming and AI – and in making technology work in the real world?

The Bachelor of Engineering in Robot Systems at University College Absalon is an English-taught engineering degree that prepares you for a career in robotics, automation and intelligent industrial production.

You will learn how robots, software, sensors, control systems, data and AI work together as part of larger production systems. You will work with different types of robotics – from physical robots and drones to software-based and digital robots.

The focus is not simply on designing a robot. It is on understanding, integrating and improving the complete system around it – and making sure the technology works safely, reliably and effectively in practice.

As part of the Bachelor of Engineering in Robot Systems, you will complete a full-time engineering internship worth 30 ECTS during your fifth semester.

What is Robot Systems Engineering?

Robots rarely work alone.

In modern industry, a robot may need to communicate with sensors, production equipment, software, control systems and databases. It may use production data to improve performance, computer vision to understand its surroundings, autonomous functions to move and make decisions, or AI to adapt to its environment and perform specific tasks.

Robot Systems Engineering is about understanding these connections and bringing different technologies together to create reliable, efficient and intelligent robotics and automation solutions.

As a Robot Systems engineer, you will work not only with robots, but with the complete systems around them. You will learn how robotics, automation, programming, mechanical systems, sensors, data and industrial control technologies interact – and how they can be integrated into real production environments.

Robot and automation systems can also contribute to more sustainable production. Intelligent automation can help companies reduce material consumption, optimise production time and processes, minimise waste and improve the use of resources.
