Classroom teaching and project work
The Global Business Engineering programme is focused on applied science and combines classroom teaching with project based work. You will work individually as well as in study groups, solving academic assignments and semester projects.
Teaching is carried out in various forms: Classic classroom teaching, presentations, group work, assignments, workshops, laboratory exercises, practical assignments and cross disciplinary projects.
We place great emphasis on close student-teacher relationships. Teaching is primarily carried out in the classroom, creating a safe and close-knit teaching environment. Classroom teaching helps promote good relations - between students as well as teachers - and provides room for dialogue and academic discussions in class.
Assignments close to reality and company visits
At VIA, we educate in close collaboration with the industry and we place a lot of focus on problem-based learning. This means that you will learn theory through concrete assignments and cases from companies with which we collaborate. Over the course of the programme, we will visit some of these companies, which gives you the opportunity to see yourself at a possible future workplace and ask questions related to what you have learned.
The close bond with the industry will give you insight as to how your professional skills can be put into practise early on. You get to test your knowledge in authentic settings - an approach meant for motivation and preparation for what awaits you after graduation.

As a graduate of Global Business Engineering, you will work in international companies operating in global markets – for example within production, export, technological development and consultancy.
You operate at the intersection of technology, business and communication, working in cross-cultural environments.
If you thrive in international settings and diverse cultures, you can build strong partnerships and translate market needs into solutions. You can also work with innovation and product development – from idea to finished product.
You will gain competencies for both technical and business-oriented tasks, including the development of solutions, strategy, sales and market analysis. At the same time, you will work with developing and implementing solutions that support companies in their green transition. You may also work as a consultant, advising companies on growth and new markets.
A degree with many opportunities
Your first job after graduation could, for example, be as a project manager, technical sales engineer, sustainability consultant, product developer, product manager or marketing project manager. Many graduates work where technology and business meet, acting as a link between development, production and customers.
If you aspire to become a manager, the programme also offers a clear career path. With experience, you can progress into leadership roles such as export manager, product manager or responsible for international markets.
