Studying abroad had been my dream for many years. I was always fascinated by travelling, studying in English, and the opportunities that an international education could open up in the future. Around my second year of Secondary School, I started planning my path towards studying abroad and began searching for universities that matched my interests and ambitions.
Finding the right university on my own quickly became overwhelming, so I reached out to the KASTU team for guidance. They helped me compare universities in England, the Netherlands, and Denmark. After evaluating university rankings, career opportunities, programme quality, and tuition costs, I decided to study at Aarhus University in Denmark. As Denmark's second highest-ranked university and one of the world's Top 100 universities, it felt like the perfect choice. Since I had always been interested in business and economics, the Economics and Business Administration programme was the ideal fit.
The application process took several months. I had to learn about every stage of the admissions process, prepare for the IELTS exam, where a minimum score of 6.5 was required, gather all the necessary documents, and arrange accommodation. It required careful planning, but by starting about two months before the application period opened, everything was manageable and surprisingly stress-free.
Today I am a student at Aarhus University, and I genuinely enjoy both my studies and university life. The programme is engaging and informative, while studying alongside classmates from many different countries and cultures makes every day a new experience. I have never regretted my decision to come here. The lecturers are approachable, supportive, and always willing to help, making every lecture both interesting and motivating.
For students deciding between studying in Denmark or staying in their home country, I believe both options can provide an excellent education. However, studying abroad offers something more. It teaches you how to understand different cultures, work with people from diverse backgrounds, and see the world from multiple perspectives. For me, this has been just as valuable as the academic knowledge itself.
My advice to anyone considering studying abroad is simple: take time to research the study programmes carefully and learn as much as you can about the university and the city where you will be living. Understanding what your degree can offer after graduation and having a clear goal will make both the application process and your studies much more rewarding.
